R&D Coach Network Setup

R&D Coach can work with different settings and configuration. It will work with any network that supports Win95 or Win98. Web interface is available on request.

There are many ways to setup the program on your network.

We recommend you to order the R&D Coach Launch Module and save lot of precious time. This module comes with lots of time saving features, such as instant messaging, network caching, auto upgrade of new versions, and automatic shutdown of the program in case of emergency. This module is a must for large corporations. You will only need to set it up once on every machine and the program will become self sufficient fromr there after. Send us an e-mail for custom pricing for the R&D Coach Launch.

There are two other ways to set up the program on your network:

Method 1

Create a directory on the server for housing the data files, making sure this directory provides the full read, write and erase access to all potential R&D Coach users.

If you have installed the program and data files on one of the stations, copy all the files from the local directory to the server directory. Alternatively, you may install empty or sample data files from the R&D Coach CD. These files are available in the download section of our web site.

Now go to each station where you have installed the R&D Coach program files and modify the R&D Coach shortcut to read "Start in" directory as the server directory. Shortcut can be modified by rightclicking on the shortcut and selecting properties.

Now run the program from one of the stations. After logging in, you should see the name of your server directory at the bottom of the main menu.

To ensure none of the stations contain data files, delete the files with following suffixes from each of the local R&D Coach directory. This step is not necessary if you have only installed the program files at the local level. *.DBF,*.CDX,*.FPT,*.CHM

Method 2

This is the quickest way to go to the network but you may lose some speed because of network traffic.

Create a directory on the server for housing the program and data files making sure this directory provides the full read, write and erase access to all potential R&D Coach users.

If you have installed the program and data files on one of the stations, copy all the files from the local directory to the server directory. Alternatively, you may install the program and data files directly from the R&D Coach CD.

Now go to each station where you have installed the R&D Coach program files and modify the R & D Coach shortcut to read "Start in " directory as the server directory. and "Target" as KPMG.EXE on the server directory. Shortcut can be modified by pressing rightclick on the shortcut and selecting properties.

Now run the program from one of the stations. After logging in, you should see the name of your server directory at the bottom of the main menu.
